Classes

The Candy Lady has a long successful history of working with Heritage Christian Academy high school students. Our youth classes are designed to give kids an opportunity to experience fun, develop a skill and create treats for themselves and friends. Perfect for boys and girls in Scouts, church groups, and other youth organizations.. 

Learn the basics of how to create your own chocolates. This class is part one of a two-class series that cover the basics of creating chocolate confections. We will cover the required tools, different techniques for melting chocolates, and the cooling process. You will learn how to hand-paint molds, create different colors from chocolates, and finish with a chocolate bark. This 1.5-hour class will get you started with the basics of using chocolate melts and you will take ½ pound chocolate home. No tempering required.

Recommended Age: 10+ 

Learn how to use coconut with this hands-on class. We will use coconut dough, coconut flakes, and toasted coconut to make different chocolate confections. This 2hr class will leave you with ½ pound of coconut treats for you to take home.

• Coconut Haystacks

Recommended Ages: 10+ 

Our favorite and one of the more challenging chocolates to make! We will be teaching the basics of creating cherry cordials – chocolate covered cherries. You will make your own cherry filling using fondant and making your own cherries. You will pick dark, milk, or combo cherry cordials for you to take home. Pricing includes your own mold and brush with 1/3 pound of chocolates.

We are opening our studio for you to drop and in make chocolates. Leave the mess to us to clean and you can focus on your creative designs. We will provide the space, paint brushes, and basic molds. Use one of our molds or bring your own molds! This is a perfect opportunity to drop in, bring a friend, or get a consultation on your own project. Only items purchased from the store can be used. Pay for what you make by the pound.

We will be utilizing peanut butter as the theme in this fun class. We will teach how to make your own peanut butter filling and put it to good use with a variety of different treats. This 1.5hr class will provide up to 1/3 of a pound of chocolates for you to take home.

Who doesn’t love caramels and turtles! How do you say CARE-a-mel or CAR-mel? We will be having fun with caramel regardless on how you call it. In this class, we will work through the basics of caramels and how to use block caramel and our sea-salted caramel melting wafters.
